Family To Family Classes Start January 8th

These weekly classes are part of a no-cost 12-week course for families and friends of persons with:
  • Schizophrenia
  • Schizoaffective Disorder
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Major Depression
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Panic Disorder
  • Borderline Personality Disorder
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Co-occuring Brain Disorders
  • Addictive Disorders.

The current Family to Family class is nearing completion and doing well with 15-20 participants.  Family members interested in participating in a future class should call the NAMI Tulsa office at 918-587-6264.

NAMI Institute 2013

    If you would like to become a NAMI-trained teacher, facilitator, or speaker for one of the following NAMI programs, please register at the Tulsa NAMI office or or by email to namitulsaeducation@gmail.com .
The courses involve:

  • Family To Family
  • Family Support Group
  • In Our Own Voice
  • NAMI BASICS
  • Parents and Teachers As Allies.
    Accommodations and travel assistance is available to enrolled students in this weekend institute.  The classes willall be taught at the OKC state offices.  Call 1-800-583-1264, for more information.

Summer BASICS Parenting Class

    A free 6-week class for parenting children with mental illness will begin August 12th.
Rose Weller will teach special insights and practical techniques to care for the needs of children and adolescents who have mental health needs.
    The sessions will be taught at Shadow Mountain Behavioral Health Center, 1013 E 66th Pl., from 6:30-8:30pm.

Summer Family To Family Class

    Family To Family classes will begin Tuesday, July 23, at Ascension Lutheran Church.
    This 12 session weekly class will complete on October 15th. Steve Baker and David Van will co-teach the class to family members and other close supporters of people with mood disorders.
    The class is limited to about 20 people and enrollment ends on August 6th. The tuition and books are free to the students, with thanks to our valued benefactors, members, and state grants.
